The intent of this blog...

On my quest  to figure out what I want to do with my career I took a job doing research on human-wildlife conflict for a documentary and I ended up feeling very connected to it in a way that I didn't expect. Now, I am hoping to get involved in human-wildlife conflict resolution. But before I figure out what direction to go with it, I wanted to educate myself more about the different types of conflict and ways people handle it around the world; and I thought: what better way to do that than compile research and post it for others to learn from? Hence this blog.

Human-wildlife conflict is a varied topic ranging from raccoons nesting in someone's attic, to more serious ones such as elephants raiding crops and killing people in India and Africa. In this blog I want to examine one facet of human-wildlife conflict or conflict resolution per post to teach myself more about it, but also educate others too. I am going to pay a bit of attention to the history behind a lot of these conflicts as well, since I notice that it is something that is often left out when reading about these topics. The immediate issue is always has the utmost importance, but I personally believe that the history behind it  equally important, since without it we really can't understand the root of the problem.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this blog is as educational for you to read as it is for me to write!
